OK...so I mentioned before that my boys suffer from both ADHD and ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder). This means basically that they do anything and everything they want without thinking that their actions could hurt other people. They, in essence, are the epitome of selfish. Fast forward to the other day... #1 and #2 were out playing with some little friends of theirs who they are forbidden to play with, as the kids' mother has a personal vendetta against me that I have no clue what caused it... People have mentioned that she had a crush on Mr. Man at one time, and is delusional and pissed off at me for "taking him away" from her. LOL Mr. Man had no clue that this chick even existed... Anyway, the boys were at her house, where they are not supposed to be. She made garlic bread, and gave some to her boys... #2 decided that he wanted some, so he concocted a story where I supposedly never feed them and they are starving, to get her to give him some. Mind you, it would have been enough had he simply asked for a piece, but as is the way with children with their disorder, they HAVE to concoct these wild stories where they are the victims and make other people feel bad for them and give in to them. They figured out that this woman was much nicer when she thought they were poor abused children... I don't understand what goes on inside their heads, but it seems that it gets worse every day. This woman came to my house...she didn't have the balls to knock on the door and talk to me, but she pasted a big handwritten sign on my door "FEED YOUR CHILDREN or foster them to someone who can." Now the irony in this just makes me want to cry... Their supper was inside waiting on the stove for them to decide to come home... It was 5:30pm, half an hour BEFORE normal supper time. Is something wrong with this picture??? The boys and I had a bit of a discussion over that one!
The next day, #1 and #2 came home from school to find supper already ready and waiting for them... I was sick and tired of them going out to play for an hour, only to come home after 8pm... this is nothing new for them, they NEVER come home when they are supposed to, and hide when I go out looking for them. Another behavior that goes right along with their disorder. They agreed that it was a good idea to have supper right after school, and a snack before bedtime. So I, Bustin-my-butt mother that I am, now set my alarm clock to get up at 2pm instead of 3pm in order to have their supper ready so that when they leave for hours on end, I know that they have full bellies.
They went out to play, and took their sister along with... Bug loves to play with the little sister of one of #2's other friends...she asked to go along with, and they agreed to take her. They were to be home at 7pm. At 7:30, I was outside waiting for them, keys in hand getting into the truck to go look for them yet again, when into the driveway pulls a Small Town Police car... Bug in the backseat. The boys had dropped her off at the forbidden house with the delusional mother and said that I was sleeping and no one was home to babysit Bug and could she please play there for a while... O...M...G. Delusional mother called the police and reported that I am neglecting my children. Needless to say, Small Town Policewoman and I had a very interesting chat about my children and the ins and outs of ODD and Conduct Disorder, which is basically a severe case of ODD, which my boys are rapidly progressing towards. She is willing to do anything and everything she can to help me, and I feel hopeful that FINALLY someone is on my side.
I have a call in with the social worker from our county, but I have to wait until after they have some monthly meeting to see if they feel my issues with the boys are enough to help me out with them... That is supposed to happen this week sometime, so we will see whether they even call. The county has never been very keen on helping me out before, so I am not holding my breath this time.
I am looking for another job, as I do not get near enough sleep working 3rd shift, when the kids are at school to make it through the entire afternoon with them and all night at work...I am running myself ragged and that is not good for me. I have an interview tomorrow morning, so we shall see how that goes...Send a few prayers my way, please?
It is time for me to go, hopefully I will have some good news in the next couple days...I will keep you posted :-)
I just read both your post. Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope things are going better for you. How did the job interview go? Hoping all is well. Can't wait to read more. Take care!
