Rainy Day

Things at our house are very chaotic, to say the least.  Mr. Man continues with his crazy schedule, and I continue to dredge on, step by step, dragging my sleep deprived ass through yet another day.  #2 son is becoming harder to deal with and more abusive and cruel every day, and it wears on me.  My phone call to social services last month went ignored, and the return call I was promised "no later than Wednesday" never happened.  It is now 3 or 4 weeks later, and when I called to check on the status of our request, I was told that they have no record that I ever called.  GRRRRR!!!  Now they have taken yet another "intake inventory" and will call me the week after next month's meeting.  (And they wonder why people don't have anything good to say about them!)

ICE was in the area last week...They took a guy from 2 doors down, and then we heard that they were doing a raid here and in a neighboring town.  Mr. Man decided it would be best if we leave for the night... so we went camping.

I have had no luck job hunting... I don't have a clue how many phone calls and applications I have put in different places, but I have not received a single, solitary call back.  Depressing...I want to quit my job SO freeeeeeeaking bad, but am still responsible enough to not do it without having something better lined up.

Mr. Man's dad is in the hospital...first the call said that he was having a heart attack.  We freaked!  Then, they said no, he was just having indigestion.  Next call, they were doing an abdominal ultrasound, and found cysts on his kidneys, and that his pancreas was inflammed, so they are going to biopsy that... Now today they said that they diagnosed him with angina.  BUT he still is in a bed in the HALLWAY at Mexico's "seguro social" hospital, because they don't have a room for him...Mind you, he has been there for 3 days now.  I think we are going to look into getting FIL a visa to come up here, since we live in close proximity to a world renowned medical facility.

We had a great weekend...all the kids behaved remarkably well, as Mr. Man's two kids from a previous relationship came to spend the weekend with us.  I don't think #2 son and I fought at ALL this weekend, it was refreshing!  Monday rolled around, and his old attitude and actions were back with a venegance, but the glimpse of a happy life was wonderful!

I need prayers for Mr. Man, as well.  He has something called vitiligo on his hands, which is an autoimmune disorder where his own body attacks the cells that make the pigment in his skin.  The dermatologist at the world renowned medical facility wanted a blood test to rule out any issues with his thyroid, as that quite often happens to someone who has vitiligo...so Mr. Man had his very first fasting blood test last week.  The doctor called me tonight...at home...to tell me that he needs to be seen TOMORROW.  Apparently his fasting glucose was high, and he has a problem where his red blood cells are too small.  He has enough of them, but they are just too small... I have been trying to research what this could be, but am not having much luck.

Sorry for the rambling in this post... I had started it a while ago, and didn't hit the "post" button...so I added to it and here you go...  Take care until next time... Dios les bendiga!

  1. Palomina, you just keep hanging in there and never give up hope. I have a 9 year old daughter who was also diagonised with ADHD and ODD. She was born a difficult child and we've been in therapy and treatment since she was 3 years old. I must say she has really, really improved in the last two years. Our situation is a little different because we live in Guadalajara, Mexico. We've often thought about moving back to the States to get better help for her, but it seems as though we have found our way.

I'm American (from California) and my husband is Mexican (from GDL). I've lived in Mexico for almost 20 years now. I originally moved to Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco to live in the warm sun and that's where I met my husband. We've been married for almost 11 years. Both of my daughters were born in Vallarta and we moved to GDL two years ago to find better therapies and a better school for our 9 year old.

If you get a chance, check out our blog....

I don't blog about Isabella's situation because my parents read the blog (they still live in CA)and they wouldn't like it.

But if I could answer any questions or if you just need to vent, I'm here.
